Welcome to your Winter 2024 Newsletter
Welcome to your Winter 2024 Newsletter. This year seems to have flown by and it’s hard to believe we’re in November already! It’s been a busy year at Pembrokeshire Lottery HQ, working with lots of new businesses and welcoming even more winners. We’ve hit the £9 million mark in interest free loans to Pembrokeshire businesses and that’s all down to you, our players, so from all of us at the Pembrokeshire Lottery, a heartfelt thank you for your continued support. So read on to meet lots of new winners and loan recipients, plus a great idea for a Christmas gift for the “hard to buy for” on your shopping list!
More £8,000 winners announced.
June’s £8,000 winner was Phillip Griffiths from Milford Haven. Phillip plays through the salary deduction scheme run by Rhyal Engineering. He has worked there since Rhyals’ early days and even remembers the business receiving interest free funding from the Pembrokeshire Lottery. And what would they be spending their winnings on? Phillip told us it will be either a new car or a new knee for Mrs Griffiths (both modes of transport we suppose!)

The weekly prize also increased to £8,000 in September and the lucky winner was Lisa Jones from Carmarthen. Lisa works at Glangwili Hospital and plays through the Hywel Dda Payroll Scheme. And what were her plans for her winnings? Lisa told us there would be a holiday, some home improvements, plus some set aside for an extra special Christmas. Wonderful!

More £4,000 Monthly Superdraw winners
On the first Wednesday of every month, the usual £2,000 prize doubles to £4,000. Here’s just a few of our most recent £4,000 winners.
This month’s £4,000 winner was Lesley Thomas from Haverfordwest. Lesley told us she was planning a once in a lifetime trip to Australia next year to see family, catch the Lions Tour and celebrate her husband’s 60th birthday so she knew exactly where her windfall was going! Have a wonderful trip Lesley, we hope your prize money will help to make it extra special.

October saw £4,000 going to Jennifer Noremac from Milford Haven. Jennifer had been supporting us for a long time, so it was nice to thank her with a win! Jennifer hadn’t got over the shock, so hadn’t decided what to do with her winnings – what a nice dilemma to have, we hope you treated yourself to something special!

Nicola Jones from Llangwm was a £4,000 winner in August. Nicola had supported us for a long time, so it was great to see her win. And what would she do with her winnings? Nicola told us she’d be jetting off to Turkey the following month. Can’t say we blame you Nicola! Hope you had a fabulous time.

Our July £4,000 winner was Elliot Rees from Johnston. Elliot came to the office to collect his prize, along with his gorgeous family (and little Elias got a Pembrokeshire Lottery piggy bank, of course!) They’d just moved house, so the win was going towards decorating their new home. Plus, we’re told there would be big plans afoot for a day at Chester Zoo for Elias. Perfect.

Not forgetting our weekly £2,000 winners!

Featured loan recipient businesses
TJ Hughes Veterinary Physiotherapy

TJ Hughes Veterinary Physiotherapy received interest free funding in September. This new business provides compassionate, tailored, mobile animal physiotherapy, in Pembrokeshire and surrounding areas. Helping animals recover from injuries, improve mobility, and enhance their quality of life.
Owner Tessa Hughes says “I developed a passion for animals early on, volunteering at rescue centres, in veterinary practices and kennels where I gained valuable knowledge and practical skills . I gained a First-Class Honours degree in BSc Applied Animal Science with Therapy from Hartpury University, I then went on and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham and I am currently working towards my MSc.
For the past two years, I have worked within a veterinary practice as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant, gaining practical knowledge in veterinary care that complements my physiotherapy work. This experience has enhanced my clinical skills, deepened my understanding of animal behaviour and welfare, and improved my ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
I am insured and a registered member of The Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Practitioners (IRVAP), which accredits professionals in veterinary physiotherapy, ensuring that members maintain high standards of clinical expertise, professionalism, and ethical care.”
