Well, there’s no denying Summer’s finally here! At the time of writing Pembrokeshire is dealing with record-breaking temperatures and the Pembrokeshire Lottery team are extremely grateful for our cool office!
A heatwave won’t stop our Investment Panel though. They’ve been working as hard as usual and you can find details of our most recent loan recipients further on.
Of course, none of this would be possible without you, our players. Your £1 a week is not only helping create more jobs in Pembrokeshire, it’s also giving you the chance to win £2,000 in the weekly draw and £4,000 £8,000 or even £10,000 in the monthly Superdraws!

Here’s just some of our latest weekly £2,000 winners.
Our most recent £2,000 winner was Robert Butland from Pembroke Dock. Mr Butland is restoring a classic Mini, so he knows exactly where his winnings will be going!
James Campbell-Lawrence from Haverfordwest was a winner in June. James planned to share his winnings with the family.
June also saw £2,000 going to Ruth Francis from Pembroke. Ruth had supported us from the very beginning so it was lovely to say thank you in person. If there’s anyone who deserves a treat it’s Ruth!
Another June winner was Trevor Ribbon from Haverfordwest. Trevor told us the first treat would be a family day out at the Wales Air Show. We hope he had a wonderful day!
After Alan’s win, we managed to meet up quickly as he and his wife only live up the road from the Pembrokeshire Lottery office. When we asked what he planned to do with his winnings, Mr Monks told us the first thing he’d be doing would be sharing it with his wife, so smiles all round! Happy spending and thank you for your support.
Another £2,000 went to Janet Graham from Clynderwen. Janet told us there would be treats for all the family, including Alfie the dog!
One of our April winners was Val John from Tenby. Mr and Mrs John had supported us for a long time, so it was lovely to see them win. They hadn’t decided what to do with their winnings when we met, but they certainly deserved to treat themselves.
£4,000 Monthly Superdraw winners
Meet the newest member of our Superdraw winners club, Allison Morris from Mathry, who won in July. Allison has supported us for a long time, so it was great to see her win. Her windfall means there’ll be extra adventures in the motorhome this year!
May’s £4,000 winner was Sioned Twose from Llandissilio, pictured along with her super cute daughter, Glesni. Sioned told us the family already had a holiday planned, so the win would make it even more memorable. We’re pretty sure there would have been some extra treats for Glesni too!
Pictured is Chris Peake, one half of our £4,000 Superdraw winners in April. Mr and Mrs Peake had supported us since the lottery was formed in 1993 so it was wonderful to say thank you in person! And what did they spend their winnings on? We were reliably informed that Mrs Peake would be leafing through new bathroom brochures immediately!
£8,000 Summer Superdraw
Our Summer Superdraw for £8,000 was held on June 1st and the lucky winner was Julie Frazer from Manorbier Newton. When we met Julie, she was still in shock so hadn’t decided on what to do with her winnings but she told us there would definitely be some treats for her family in the near future! Thanks for your support Julie, we’re sure you’ll enjoy your winnings!

Someone wins £2,000 EVERY week with the Pembrokeshire Lottery, but on the first Wednesday of every month, the usual weekly prize increases when we hold a Superdraw. The August Superdraw will be next, with a fantastic prize of £4,000.

Your lottery pounds go into our loan fund. Local businesses can apply for interest free loans from this fund, which helps create more jobs in Pembrokeshire. Here’s just a few of our recent loan recipients.
Milford Beach Activity Centre
One of the owners, Chris Powels writes “Sam, Mike and I all grew up in Milford so know the area very well and saw the potential in what was a disused piece of land on the marina that lent itself to having a water-based business sited there.
Wanting to give something back to our hometown and specifically for the young people of the town the idea of the activity centre was born. After some market research it was clear that leisure activities on the marina were limited to a bowling alley, bars & restaurants and activities for boat owners. Milford Beach was being under-utilised as a resource and with the Port Authority looking to have safer water-based options for young people other than jumping off areas such as Hakin Point, and Pembrokeshire County Council strategies looking to develop tourism opportunities on the Haven, the proposal was able to meet some key local agendas as well as being a viable business.
After a successful business pitch, we obtained the full support of Milford Haven Port Authority and set about turning our business plan into reality. This included conversations with Pembrokeshire Lottery who were able to advise on how securing financial support from them would enable the business to not rely on a tight budget of personal investment only but enabled the business to look at a larger scope, better equipment and a more ambitious growth plan to bring more activities in the future.
The Pembrokeshire Lottery funding application process was a thorough but not a challenging or onerous process with clear support at every step of the way which enabled us to bring our plans to fruition, including employing local young people for seasonal jobs in centre assistant roles. The company hopes to support local young people to gain qualifications as paddle sports instructors and lifeguards to work each summer season (April – October).
Opening just in time for the 2022 summer holidays we hope to see plenty of people enjoying the activities on Milford Beach and hope to add to the overall experience that people have on Milford Waterfront. With a growing social media presence, Milford Beach Activity Centre is generating a lot of interest from locals and also accommodation providers in the area to increase the tourism opportunities and provide Milford Haven with a new resource that will hopefully aid the economic development of the area for years to come.”
